Qualis Corporation Receives Subcontract to Support NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility
Huntsville, AL – Qualis Corporation announced today that it received a subcontract to provide Manufacturing Support and Facility Operating services to NASA’s George C. Marshall Space Flight Center’s Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) located in New Orleans, LA. Qualis is a small business team member of Jacob’s Technology Inc. that has been awarded the prime contract. The contract is a Cost Plus Award Fee, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract that includes a three year base period with two one year options and represents a potential maximum value of $696M if all options are exercised and all IDIQ annual maximum values are realized.
Marshall Space Flight Center manages MAF and provides a unique capability for manufacturing large aerospace structures at a single location. It has played a key role in space shuttle propulsion through the design, assembly, and manufacture of the external tank. While continuing to support the Space Shuttle Program, MAF has also been selected as the site to manufacture several major components for the Constellation Program that will return humans to the moon and send crewed expeditions to Mars and destinations beyond. MAF is one of the largest employers in Louisiana.
