To celebrate 25 successful years since its inception, we as a company have designated 2018 as a year dedicated to giving back to positively impact the communities we serve in three direct ways: <strong>1. Support to U.S. Military Veterans; 2. Youth STEM education outreach; and 3. Health, wellness and community projects<\/strong>. The Qualis Cares \u201c12 Months of Giving: A Lifetime of Making a Difference\u201d is a year-long campaign that has made the following impact to date:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In <strong>January<\/strong>, Qualis employees collected personal hygiene and clothing items for the homeless, children and displaced Veterans in Alabama for the entire month. The donated items were distributed among organizations in the Huntsville area\u2014Priority Veteran, Operation Stand Down and the National Children\u2019s Advocacy Center. The Qualis Cares committee sorted the donated clothing into boxes and packed the hygiene items into care packages at the headquarters to be delivered to these organizations and help those in need.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>February<\/strong>, \u00a0Qualis headquarters held its \u201cHave a Heart, Donate Blood\u201d Blood Drive on Valentine\u2019s Day with the help of the LifeSouth Blood Mobile. The event was held outside the corporate office in the parking lot and was open to the public. There were many donors from surrounding companies who came to support the event. As a token of thanks, all blood donors received Valentine-themed treats and candy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, Qualis made a charitable donation \u00a0to the Pet Welfare (EPW) located on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. EPW is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that supports the military by providing a safe haven for pets that have to be relinquished due to PTSD, deployments, changes in family situations, etc.\u00a0 The shelter places approximately 100 to 300 pets annually and also takes in pets from off-base communities and local kill shelters.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In <strong>March<\/strong>, Qualis designated the entire month to focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs for youth in Alabama and Tennessee. The contributions included providing aid to a dedicated teacher in the Madison City School District and the Providence Elementary Robotics Team, and\u00a0the Hands-On Science Center in Tullahoma.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>April<\/strong>, Qualis sponsored the Emerald Coast Autism Center (ECAC) Golf Tournament in Niceville, Florida as a Gold-Level Tournament Sponsor. The ECAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to education and improving the lives of young children with autism in the Okaloosa and Walton counties and surrounding areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a company, Qualis is keeping its commitment to expanding our active and meaningful community involvement in the places we call home.
