Avionics Science and Engineering

Qualis provides avionics technical and operational expertise to the TEAS Team and our government customers at Eglin Air Force Base in areas related to electronic attack (EA), electronic protection (EP), and electronic warfare support measures (ES). Key areas of support include electronic warfare (EW) testing and evaluation, mission data development and programming, and electronic countermeasures (ECM) technique development. Qualis engineers evaluate avionics sustainment and modernization options for legacy aircraft that include upgrades to mission computers and the addition of suitable avionics systems to meet the communications, navigation, surveillance, air traffic management, and navigation safety requirements of the future.

Qualis also supports the specification and selection of NASA flight instrumentation, with test objectives in mind. For example, we supported the requirements for the thermocouples on the aft skirt of the 1st stage of the Ares 1-X demonstration flight, designed to measure the aerothermodynamic environment of re-entry of the 1st stage.
